Introduction

The t:updateActionListener tag updates the value of a backing bean property when an action event is fired by the parent UI component.



Tag Attributes


AttributeDescription   Type    
converter The name of a registered Converter object which will be invoked to convert the value into an appropriate datatype for assigning to the specified property. It must match the converter-id value of a converter element defined in your Faces configuration file. If not specified then an appropriate converter will be selected automatically.String
property(required)The property attribute expects a value-binding expression associating a backing bean property with this component.String
value(required)The value attribute sets the current value for this component.String


Example


<t:commandLink action="#{myBean1.updateMethod}">
   <t:updateActionListener
       property="#{myBean2.myProperty}"
       value="999"/>
</t:commandLink>

When the action event myBean1.updateMethod is fired, myProperty of myBean2 is updated with value = "999".

       value="#{myBean1.mySecondProperty}"/>
</t:commandLink>

When the action event myBean1.updateMethod is fired, myProperty of myBean2 is updated with value of myBean1.mySecondProperty.
